Caution in traffic across BiH: Fog, ice, and roadworks slowing down driving

(Patria) - In most of Bosnia and Herzegovina, traffic is on dry or wet roads. In some sections in valleys, as well as over mountain passes, fog and low clouds are reducing visibility in places.

We also draw attention to frequent landslides of earth and stones on sections passing through cuttings. Due to lower temperatures and icy roads, we warn of a high degree of caution when crossing bridges and overpasses. We remind you that winter equipment is legally mandatory for all vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We appeal to drivers to drive with maximum caution on all routes and to adjust their driving to the current road conditions.

Construction of a noise barrier is underway on the A-1 highway section Podlugovi-Sarajevo sjever, due to which traffic is diverted to the overtaking lane.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

Roadworks are underway on the Kladanj-Stupari main road, due to which traffic is one-lane, with alternating passage of vehicles, every day (except Sunday) between 7 AM and 5 PM.

Passenger vehicle traffic is occasionally increasing at border crossings, but for now, it is proceeding with delays of up to 30 minutes.

Due to passenger registration under the new EU entry/exit system (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, Karakaj border crossing is open for all vehicle categories. Šepak border crossing prohibits traffic for all trucks.
