Okerić interrupted KS Assembly session, no majority for adoption of Draft Budget for 2025

(Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Assembly session was interrupted almost two hours after midnight following a debate on the Draft Budget of KS for 2025. The draft was presented by the KS Minister of Finance Afan Kalamujić. It amounts to 1,478,000,000 and is 52 million less compared to the 2024 budget.

However, after the debate concluded, there were not enough deputies from the ruling parties in the hall, so the Speaker of the KS Assembly, Elvedin Okerić, interrupted the session. The largest number of deputies were missing from the SDP Club, with only two out of seven deputies present.

According to Patria's information, Minister Kalamujić warned the KS Government and all ministers that the budget must be handled responsibly, and if the unrealistic demands of certain ministers continue, he will resign.

The number of employees in KS who receive salaries from the KS Budget for 2025 is 16,291, which is about 400 more than the previous year. The largest number of employees are in the education and higher education sectors.

The minister emphasized that this year too, there will be a budget reduction due to the reduction of weights for KS.
