Heavy rainfall complicates traffic in BiH: Caution for potholes and landslides

(Patria) - Due to heavy rainfall, road damage in the form of potholes or ruts is less visible as they are filled with water and pose an additional driving hazard. Traffic is difficult on most routes in BiH.

There is an increased risk of landslides on sections passing through cuttings. We draw attention to the roads: Srebrenik-Šićki Brod, Ribnica-Banovići-Živinice, Simin Han-Ban Brdo, Jajce-Banja Luka, Bugojno-Kupres, Bradina-Konjic-Jablanica, Sarajevo-Foča, Rogatica-Višegrad, and Turbe-Karanovac.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons remains suspended.

There are long queues of vehicles at the exits from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Velika Kladuša, Izačić, Orašje, and Gradiška, with increased vehicle traffic. At other border crossings, delays for passenger vehicles do not exceed 30 minutes.

Due to passenger registration under the new European Union Entry/Exit System (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all vehicle categories. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
