New Raids in the Government of Canton Sarajevo: Police in the Office of Minister of Labour and Social Policy Enda Pavić Pečenković

(Patria) - Members of the Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo have been searching the office of the Minister of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Canton Sarajevo, Enda Pavić Pečenković (SDP), since this morning.

The searches are being conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo. Minister Pavić-Pečenković is the main target of this operation. She is suspected of illegal employment. She has not yet been deprived of her liberty.

According to information from the investigation, in addition to the minister, several other individuals from the Government of Canton Sarajevo are in the crosshairs of the Canton Sarajevo police.

The Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo issued a statement.

"As part of the continuation of the 'Envelope' operation, searches are underway at the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Canton Sarajevo and the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Canton Sarajevo. The suspect is Enda Pavić Pečenković. The Prosecutor's Office charges that she, together with Adna Mesihović and through the mediation of Ibrahim Obhođaš, favoured his sister in order to enable her employment in the Ministry of Labour. More information during the day," the statement said.

Earlier this month, on 11 April, the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Canton Sarajevo, Adna Mesihović, was arrested for illegal employment. She was remanded in custody for one month, while her assistant Dženita Viteškić was released with certain restrictive measures.

In the same operation, Ibrahim Obhođaš from ZNG, a member of the Management Board of the Employment Service of Canton Sarajevo, was arrested for the appointment of the director of the Public Institution Student Centre.

In November 2024, the Minister of Communal Economy, Bojan Bošnjak, was arrested; he was dismissed in March this year, and Mladen Pandurević was appointed in his place.
