Nikšić, Konaković and Forto would surely agree to sign Greater Serbia and Greater Croatia in Dayton

If the leaders of the "Trojka" parties had negotiated in Dayton instead of Alija Izetbegović, there is no doubt they would have signed Greater Serbia and Greater Croatia.

Namely, after the leaders of the "Trojka" parties admitted that they made some decisions and adopted some laws under the pressure of the US Ambassador to BiH, the citizens of BiH can now understand how lucky they were that the leaders of the "Trojka" parties were not negotiating in Dayton, but rather the late President of the Republic of BiH, Alija Izetbegović.

Therefore, whenever someone unjustly accuses Alija Izetbegović of signing something he shouldn't have in Dayton, they should just remember that during the Dayton negotiations, Alija Izetbegović, as the President of the Republic of BiH, was subjected to enormous pressure, directly from the presidents of the world's most powerful countries.

Despite this, Greater Serbia and Greater Croatia were not signed in Dayton, but rather the continuation of the existence of the internationally recognized state of BiH.

It is a separate issue that the progressive potentials of the Dayton Peace Agreement were not utilized after its signing. That will be discussed another time.

President Alija Izetbegović succeeded in ensuring that the signatures of the Presidents of Serbia and Croatia on the Dayton Peace Agreement served as legal proof that it was an international armed conflict, not a civil war, which was later confirmed by numerous verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

In a situation where Milorad Dodik or Dragan Čović are enough to pressure the leaders of the "Trojka" parties into agreeing, or even withdrawing their signatures, one cannot help but wonder what the leaders of the "Trojka" parties would have agreed to if, in peacetime conditions today, they were called by, for example, the President of the USA or the presidents of the countries that witnessed the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Therefore, may eternal mercy and great thanks be to the President of the Republic of BiH, Alija Izetbegović, and all members of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian delegation who negotiated in Dayton.

The circumstances under which they negotiated confirm to this day the full weight of the words of the President of the Republic of BiH, Alija Izetbegović, that "in the world as it is, a better peace cannot be achieved".
