The biggest traffic jams were recorded on the Sarajevo-Mostar highway section Bradina-Konjic, at the southern border crossings, as well as near urban areas.

(Patria) - Due to the May Day holidays, traffic intensity has increased.

Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and monitor the situation at border crossings.

According to Patria's information, there are huge traffic jams at the Kamensko border crossing, whether for passenger cars or buses.

Due to road repair work on the A-1 highway section Kakanj-Lašva, the left side of the highway is closed for a length of 3 km, and vehicles are being directed to use the right side in both directions, direction Lašva-Kakanj.

On the A-1 highway sections Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi and Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica, traffic is diverted to the overtaking lane due to ongoing works.

Movement of all vehicles over the bridge on the Dobro Polje-Miljevina highway is prohibited. Vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons can use the roads via Grepak or Kalinovik (there is 19 km of macadam road), while trucks must use the road via Rogatica and Ustiprača.

On the Tuzla-Bijeljina highway (Banj Brdo), vehicles up to 3.5 tons are using one lane, alternating, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje highway, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

On the M-5 highway section Izačić-Bihać border crossing, bridge reconstruction work is underway over the Mrižnica stream. Vehicles are being diverted to a temporary bypass in the immediate vicinity of the works, with alternating passage.

Traffic is heavy at the exits from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Gradiška, Bijača, and Kamensko. At other border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles range from 10 to 30 minutes.

Due to passenger registration under the new EU entry/exit system (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing, according to BIHAMK.
