Artificial turf mini football pitch installed at Stojčevac picnic area

(Patria) - The revitalisation of the Stojčevac picnic area, which began in early 2022, is still ongoing. This is confirmed by new facilities at the popular picnic spot.

After two basketball courts were recently built on the site where sports fields stood before the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, an artificial turf mini football pitch has been installed in recent days.

- When we joined forces to fight for the revitalisation of Stojčevac, we were aware that a difficult task awaited us.

The revitalisation and construction of new facilities at the famous picnic area, whose appearance we have completely changed, has not stopped for us; we are constantly striving to improve it - emphasised the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur.

The new facilities at Stojčevac also open up possibilities for holding new events, as well as the full-scale return of some old ones.

One of these is certainly the memorial tournament in honour of Bosnian martyrs Nedžad Granula and Haris Opanković, who laid down their lives precisely in the defence of Stojčevac.

- With the construction of the mini football pitch, we have created all the preconditions to bring back the Haris and Gigi Memorial Mini Football Tournament to Stojčevac next year - said Mayor Muzur.

The revitalisation and renovation of facilities at the famous picnic area will not stop with the construction of the artificial turf mini football pitch, and new sports fields are planned in the coming period.

Stojčevac is certainly one of the most positive stories not only in Ilidža but also beyond. From a place that was synonymous with neglect, it has become the most desirable location for outings and recreation.
