Mufti Plojović: Miraj is a special miracle gifted to the Prophet, peace be upon him.

(Patria) - According to the Calendar of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the blessed night of Laylat al-Miraj, which carries numerous messages and lessons, begins tomorrow, January 26th, with the evening prayer.

Laylat al-Miraj is the night of the blessed journey of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, from the Kaaba in Mecca to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, and then continuing through the seven heavens, up to the highest point - Sidrat al-Muntaha.
As explained in an interview with the MINA Agency by the Mufti of Belgrade and Deputy President of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Serbia, Dr. Rešad-ef. Plojović, this event is a special miracle gifted to the Prophet in the eleventh year of his prophethood, at a time when he and his few, but sincere, followers faced the most difficult trials since the beginning of his prophethood.

“His people, after blatant humiliation, reject and isolate him, and the Merciful Lord puts him to further test with the passing of his dearest persons, his uncle Abu Talib and his wife Khadijah, who represented a key support and pillar for the Prophet, peace be upon him,” stated Mufti Plojović.

With this miracle, emphasized the Mufti, the Lord encouraged and strengthened the Prophet to “resolutely and patiently continue carrying the trust for which he was chosen and prepared by the Almighty, and with which humanity, especially his followers, was honored.”

Volumes of books have been written about Isra and Mi'raj, describing the different flows of the same event and everything that happened, from the very context when it occurred, the preparation of the Messenger of Allah, the manner of travel, and everything he encountered during the journey, Plojović added, emphasizing that there are numerous lessons in this event.

“Among these lessons are: The confirmation of Allah’s power, which was shown to humanity through this event. The unity of the prophets and the confirmation that they all carried the same trust, calling to faith in One God - Allah, of whom our Prophet was an imam, thereby expressing honor to him as the last bearer of Allah’s message on Earth.

Unwavering faith and patience in trials, because life in this world is not possible without trials, and the only way to overcome them with dignity is through sincere faith and patience,” he stressed.

Another lesson is responsibility in the hereafter, because the Prophet, peace be upon him, was shown what awaits people after life in this world - Paradise and Hell, as a reward or punishment for what they did during their lives in this world.

“Prayer as the pillar of faith, because the Almighty Lord chose to gift His Beloved and his Ummah with a special gift on this night, and that is prayer, as an opportunity for a person to maintain an unbreakable connection with their Creator and find strength in it to overcome their trials. The significance of Masjid al-Aqsa: Isra and Mi’raj point to the importance of Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, as the third holiest site in Islam, which today, more than ever before, demands Muslims to contribute to its protection and preservation of its sanctity, which is daily desecrated, and those who protect and respect it – few and weak – are humiliated,” Mufti Plojović conveyed.

In mosques across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora, this night will be marked with appropriate programs.
