Lendo: Southern Interconnection is a strategic project, I congratulate the SDA Club on proposing and persistence

(Patria) - I welcome the decision of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH to support the Draft Law on the gas pipeline Southern Interconnection Bosnia and Herzegovina – Republic of Croatia, stated in the announcement by the Vice President of FBiH Refik Lendo.

"This is a strategic energy project whose implementation would ensure a more secure supply of natural gas for the citizens of FBiH, as well as diversification of gas supply sources, which is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's obligations on the path to European Union membership.

I congratulate the SDA Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH on proposing this legal solution almost a year ago and on their persistence in efforts to have it adopted," the announcement adds.

It further states: "also, I congratulate the Bosniak Caucus in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH on initiating the session at which the Law on the Southern Interconnection gas pipeline was finally adopted."

"I thank the representatives and delegates of other parties who, by supporting this Law, placed the interests of BiH and FBiH above party interests and coalition relations.

I call on the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Presidency of BiH to take the next steps as soon as possible towards concluding the interstate agreement and implementing this strategic project for Bosnia and Herzegovina," the announcement concluded.
