(Patria) - Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto spoke today, on the eve of the Bled Strategic Forum, with the host, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Robert Golob, about improving bilateral cooperation and European integration.
Krišto thanked Golob for the strong support for granting candidate status to our country. She emphasized that Slovenia has always been a friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of our most significant economic partners.
She also stated that among the EU member states, Slovenia is one of the countries with which BiH has traditionally good cooperation in all segments and that the Council of Ministers of BiH will certainly strive to raise these relations to an even higher level.
Golob stated that Slovenia will continue to provide support to BiH and assist it on its European path.
The meeting discussed the situation in Slovenia after the storm and the progress of the reconstruction process. Golob thanked BiH for the assistance sent to Slovenia.
Krišto said that helping all countries in difficult times, and especially friends like Slovenia, is something that is understood and unquestionable.
She informed the Prime Minister of Slovenia about the current political situation in our country and the steps taken by the Council of Ministers of BiH on its European path.
She added that a very important link in the chain of stabilizing internal political circumstances in Bosnia and Herzegovina and amending the electoral legislation is crucial, and that activities to find solutions in this area have already begun.
She stated that the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted and sent five laws to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for consideration: the Law on Free Access to Information at the level of BiH institutions, the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Ombudsman for Human Rights of BiH, the Draft Law on the Organization of the Wine Market in Bosnia and Herzegovina in its new text, the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Foreigners, marked EI, and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH.
She emphasized that the Draft Law on Courts of BiH, the adoption of which was agreed upon at the political level, is under harmonization and that she expects it to be adopted very soon by the Council of Ministers and sent to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
All these reform laws bring our country a step closer to the European Union and are proof of our dedicated and accelerated work on fulfilling the conditions for joining the European family, Krišto said.
