Konaković with Ginkel and Volz: Projects like the Southern Interconnection can further strengthen interest for US investments in BiH

(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković met today in Sarajevo with the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in BiH John Ginkel and the Special Envoy for Global Energy Integration of the US Department of Energy Joshua Volz.

Konaković expressed gratitude to the United States of America for its continuous and strong support for the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the implementation of key strategic projects.

He emphasized that the active and visible presence of the United States of America in Bosnia and Herzegovina is of exceptional importance, and that their clear focus on BiH and the region provides additional political and economic security, strengthens the trust of international partners, and sends an important message of commitment to preserving stability and the country's development.

The meeting discussed the Southern Interconnection project, which opens access for Bosnia and Herzegovina to the global LNG market, connects it with terminals on the Adriatic, and represents one of the strategically most important energy projects for our country.

The Minister pointed out that the implementation of this project is not only an energy issue but also an important political and security matter, which ensures stronger connectivity for Bosnia and Herzegovina with Euro-Atlantic partners, including the possibility of long-term
supplies of natural gas from the United States of America.

It was emphasized that the successful implementation of projects like the Southern Interconnection can further strengthen the interest of American investors for investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that to attract investments it is important to ensure a stable and predictable legislative framework, which guarantees security for investors and accelerates the implementation of strategic projects.
