Komšić: BiH Presidency will consider allegations of terrorist cells and Russian camps in BiH

(Patria) - The BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić today, on the occasion of marking November 25, Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, laid flowers at the Kovači Cemetery and the grave of the first President of RBiH Alija Izetbegović.

He also laid flowers and paid tribute at the "Eternal Flame" Memorial, and then, in an address to journalistic teams, congratulated all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on one of the two most important days in its history.

Komšić stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not progressing on its European path due to unfulfilled obligations for years, and assessed that BiH has taken a step back because it has not fulfilled its obligations for years.

- We have not fulfilled what Europe is asking for. We are not progressing towards the EU because Europe itself has many problems regarding how it will function in the future, or how to organize relations within the EU.

French President Emmanuel Macron also told us at the last meeting that they have many problems. He meant the voting method. When you add the unsettled situation in BiH, plus the entire region, of course, Europe is cautious - Komšić stated.

He also commented on the ban on celebrating Statehood Day in Mrkonjić Grad, where the First Session of the State Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBiH) was held 80 years ago.

Komšić says that, as every year since the end of the war until today, the same story repeats itself when it comes to BiH Statehood Day - November 25, and BiH Independence Day - March 1.

- Nothing is unexpected, no matter how much we view it as a kind of political madness.

Now we are talking about November 25, BiH Statehood Day, which is very important when we talk about the attitude towards fascism, or the anti-fascist struggle of all peoples in BiH, who chose the right historical side then and today - Komšić emphasized.

He points out that the question arises whether such decisions could be motivated by a negative attitude towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There is also, in the opinion of the chairman of the collective head of state, a denial of BiH, but also a certain fear - he added.

He also commented on the allegations of the existence of terrorist cells and Russian camps in BiH.

- The BiH Presidency will discuss this. We will seek official information, primarily from the bodies whose job it is - from those who made the claims and from the Intelligence Security Agency (OSA) of BiH, which is obliged to know, monitor, and report to BiH institutions - Komšić stated.

He also said that everything stated in this regard must be supported by facts.

- We will probably have a proposal for such a conclusion at the next session of the BiH Presidency next week. I think all three members of the BiH Presidency can agree that this is a topic that deserves our attention and that we should seek answers to these questions - Komšić concluded.
