(Patria) - A convoy with 14 coffins of Srebrenica genocide victims passed through Sarajevo on its way to Potočari.
The convoy was seen off by victims' families, numerous delegations from all levels of government, the Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community Husein ef. Kavazović, members of the Presidency of BiH, ambassadors, the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, state and federal deputies, cantonal deputies, a delegation of the KS Government, the KS Assembly, councillors, and citizens of Sarajevo.
By reciting Fatiha and placing flowers on the convoy, the victims were seen off on their journey to their final resting place, 29 years after the genocide in July 1995.
The member of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, addressed the media in Sarajevo.
“These are difficult moments for us and for the entire world. We have come to pay tribute to the only genocide in Europe after World War II. Genocide was committed. Besides the verdicts of UN courts, there are numerous resolutions adopted by other countries. Since May 23, we also have a resolution from the UN General Assembly. No one can ever erase the truth about the committed genocide,” said Bećirović.
