Karamehić-Abazović violated NIP Statute: Expressed stance contrary to her party and damaged party's reputation with statement about youth

"I am a politician who entered politics even though I didn't have to, who was very well paid even before politics and highly educated with international and local awards for my successes," said state representative Mia Karamehić-Abazović (NIP) in her guest appearance on N1 television this morning.

Her guest was Adnan Lukač, one of the young people who exercised their right to a subsidy for housing, which the NIP representative called a "hyper-privileged caste" and stated she would give them nothing.

In her heated and irritating address in the N1 studio, she almost threateningly gestured towards Lukač, interrupting even the host who asked her a question.

Karamehić-Abazović thus claims that she was well-paid even before politics, but did not miss the opportunity to further secure her entry into the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament. As a candidate, she won 4,793 votes, which was not enough for a direct mandate, but she entered thanks to the compensation list. Therefore, the leadership of the People and Justice party placed her on that list.

However, Karamehić-Abazović has not distinguished herself in her current mandate in this house by the number of questions or initiatives, except for being known for arguments and threats of reporting certain representatives.

The scandalous statements she made about young people who legally obtained the right to subsidies based on a public call from the KS Government, in which NIP has been participating for years and shaping the policy of various subsidies, were not condemned by her party.

The head of that party, Elmedin Konaković, realized the scale of the problems created by Karamehić-Abazović and publicly called on the KS Government to find additional funds and pay the subsidies to young people in an amount close to what was promised. The subsidy amount was supposed to be between 10,000 and 12,000 KM, and due to the KS Government's refusal to increase the subsidy amount despite a record number of applicants, young people are expected to receive 4,800 KM each, which caused revolt and protests in front of the KS Government.

Konaković did not say a word about the NIP representative who publicly expressed a stance completely contrary to the one that People and Justice claims to represent. Reading the NIP Statute and its Article 29 (Expulsion from the party), Mia Karamehić-Abazović should have been expelled from the party or at least sanctioned.

"A member shall be expelled from the Party who:
- Does not respect the Statute and program of the Party, as well as other general and individual acts of the Party, and decisions made by competent bodies and authorities of the Party within their jurisdiction;
- causes damage to the interests of the Party through their actions or conduct;
- publicly expresses political views that are contrary to the Statute and program of the Party, and decisions of the competent bodies and authorities of the Party within their jurisdiction..."

In addition to publicly stating a stance contrary to the one People and Justice represents, at least in Sarajevo Canton, she has caused damage to the political party. Konaković tried to mitigate the damage by shifting the key responsibility to the KS Government, even though, as the head of diplomacy, he often claims not to deal with cantonal issues.

However, to be fair, Konaković correctly assessed that her statement could affect the results of the local elections in October and reacted. However, the fact that he did not publicly distance himself from the state representative's statement speaks more about the currents within NIP, the consequences of which are increasingly coming to the surface.
