Cantonal Council of SBiH: Okerić continued Konaković's path in distributing budget funds

(Patria) - When you think nothing in Sarajevo Canton can surprise you, we receive daily confirmation that NIP manages to turn hope into deep disappointment through its actions. NIP, as the bearer of power and the pillar of the Troika in the Sarajevo Canton, through its activities and payments of over 200,000 KM to organizations it founded, shows that holding power is a lucrative business for both the party itself and individuals who are members of NIP, the Cantonal Council of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

"Chairman Okerić continued the path of his party leader Elmedin Konaković in distributing budget funds, thereby showing and proving that this is an established pattern on which this party operates.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting an investigation into earlier abuses by the former
Chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, was not a sufficient warning to Mr. Okerić to stop
the abuses. On the contrary, they again allocated public funds of all
citizens of Sarajevo Canton to their members. This insolent and, above all, criminal act is sufficient reason for the involvement of all law enforcement agencies as well as the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

At the same time, what Mr. Okerić should and must do is resign from the position of
Chairman of the Sarajevo Canton, although it is difficult to expect that because even his party leader Elmedin Konaković did not feel the need to do so.

Resignations in the Sarajevo Canton are a "privilege" enjoyed by members of the government, such as Prime Minister Uk or members
of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina whose work is belittled. When you do not commit crime and corruption, then they demand your resignation, and when you knowingly commit crime - then you ask the public to understand you because you are helping associations that, supposedly, engage in humanitarian work even though you founded them yourself," the announcement stated.

They further state that this is yet another proof that the value system in the city of Sarajevo has been brought to the point of absurdity, where individuals do everything to advance that crime, not eradicate it.

"Once again, we call on all investigative bodies to investigate these transfers, as well as all others, immediately, and to stop this form of corruption and misuse of public money immediately," they concluded.
