Cantonal Court bans Salamović and Sulejmanović from holding director positions

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo has accepted the proposal of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office and imposed measures banning the performance of director functions for the director of KJKP Rad Nijaz Salamović and the executive director of Željeznice FBiH Reuf Sulejmanović.

This information was confirmed to Faktor.ba from the Cantonal Court, and the decision was made by preliminary proceedings judge Jasmina Sazdovski.

Recall, Salamović and Sulejmanović were arrested on Monday as part of the investigation into illegal appointments in KJKP Rad.

The Prosecutor's Office earlier stated that it assessed that the proposed measure banning the performance of current duties as director of KJKP Rad and acting executive director of JP Željeznice FBiH, as well as preventing the suspects from being appointed to a position in another public company or administrative body, can fully achieve the purpose of protecting the public interest, i.e., the interest of society, as well as the smooth conclusion of the investigation.

By order of the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton, members of the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton brought in a total of eight people the day before yesterday, including former director Vera Arnautović and members of the Supervisory Board of this company.

The Prosecutor's Office stated that they are suspected of having illegally appointed Salamović over the past three years - first as executive director, and then as director of the company, even though he did not meet the conditions for these positions.

As could be heard at yesterday's hearing on the imposition of prohibition measures, the essence of the whole story is that Salamović was illegally appointed as acting executive director in Rad, and later to the position of director of that cantonal company as a result of a political agreement between NiP and Naša stranka.

Members of the then supervisory board even changed the company's Statute to enable him to meet the conditions for holding the director position, while he himself issued three certificates of work experience in managerial positions in his own company Dilber d.o.o. Sarajevo, even though at that time he worked in other companies as a sales representative and commercialist.
