(Patria) - The Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton has urgently offered accommodation capacities and expert support for the care of residents of the Home for the Elderly in Tuzla.
"I am deeply shaken by the news of the tragic fire at the Home for the Elderly in Tuzla and the loss of life. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and I wish the injured a speedy and full recovery.
This tragedy has affected the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina, because caring for the elderly and vulnerable is not just a professional responsibility, it is a civilizational, human obligation.
From the very first moment, the social protection system of Sarajevo Canton has made itself available. The directors and expert teams of public institutions immediately established contact, coordinated capacities, and prepared everything necessary to help accommodate the users affected by this disaster.
The Public Institution Gerontology Center Sarajevo is ready to accept up to 15 individuals who urgently need safe accommodation, care, and psychosocial support, and we are also making the house in Ledići available, which has the capacity to accommodate up to 25 individuals, with guaranteed expert care and adequate living conditions.
In the coming hours, we will remain in direct communication with the institutions of Tuzla Canton to ensure that the reception and support are organized without delay," stated the relevant minister, Enda Pavić Pečenković.
