OSCE Mission statement on the draft of the new Constitution of Republika Srpska: A dangerous attempt to undermine the legal framework of the state

(Patria) - The draft Constitution of Republika Srpska directly violates the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and represents a dangerous attempt to undermine the legal framework of the state, weaken institutional integrity and deepen political divisions, according to a statement by the OSCE Mission on the draft of the new Constitution of Republika Srpska.

"All elected officials and members of any parliament, including deputies of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, have a responsibility to recognize, prevent and avoid processes that pose a threat to democracy, the constitutional order and the stability of the country," the OSCE said.

We recall that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska last night adopted the Decision on initiating the adoption of a new Constitution. 50 deputies voted for this decision, seven were against, and two abstained.

Deputies will today, at the 20th special session, consider the Draft Constitution of Republika Srpska and the Proposal of the Law on the Protection of the Constitutional Order of Republika Srpska – under an urgent procedure.
