Investigation at the Ministry of Finance of Sarajevo Canton: Documentation seized on suspicion of illegal employment

(Patria) - By order of the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton and based on the order of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, investigators from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS) entered the premises of the Ministry of Finance of Sarajevo Canton today, where the seizure of documentation related to suspicions of illegal employment has begun.

As confirmed by the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, this is a new case that is not related to the earlier investigation known as "Koverta" (Envelope). The Minister of Finance is Afan Kalamujić (ZNG).

"This is a separate, second case. The action has nothing to do with the 'Koverta' case, although it also relates to suspicions of abuse during employment," the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton announced.

According to unofficial information, the investigation focuses on possible irregularities and violations of legal procedures during employment in the Ministry of Finance, including allegations of employment without public competition, favoritism towards certain candidates, and political influence.

The seized documentation will be subject to further analysis and verification within the ongoing investigation, and the Prosecutor's Office declined to provide further details in the interest of the proceedings.

More information about the results of the investigation is expected in the coming days, and the competent authorities state that all irregularities, if confirmed, will be sanctioned in accordance with the law.
