Halil Bajramović (NIP) sentenced to three years in prison for credit fraud: Must go to jail and loses mandate

Federal MP of the People and Justice (NIP) Halil Bajramović has been finally sentenced to three years in prison, Istraga.ba has learned.

The verdict of the Supreme Court of FBiH was delivered to Bajramović and his defense this week, as Istraga.ba has learned.

This means that the high-ranking NIP official will have to go to prison, and will also lose his mandate in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH.

As a reminder, in June last year, the Cantonal Court in Bihać issued a first-instance verdict finding the president of NiP in the Una-Sana Canton (USK) Halil Bajramović guilty of the criminal offense of deception in granting loans.

According to the statement from the Cantonal Court in Bihać at the time, the accused Halil Bajramović was found guilty of committing the criminal offense of "Deception in granting loans or other benefits" from Article 268, Paragraph 3, in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and was sentenced to three years in prison.

Conversely, Halil Bajramović was acquitted of the charge of committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of position or authority" from Article 383, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Paragraph 1, and the indictment is dismissed for the criminal offense of "Incitement to commit the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority" from Article 383, Paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 32 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused Halil Bajramović as an instigator, and Rifet Alibabić as the perpetrator, were also acquitted of the charges of committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of position or authority" from Article 383, Paragraph 3, in conjunction with Paragraph 1, and "Forgery of an official document" from Article 389, Paragraph 1, in conjunction with Articles 32, Paragraph 1, and 54, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

An appeal to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was permitted against this verdict.

Shortly before the hearing, Bajramović met in Sarajevo with federal prosecutor and member of the HJPC Saša Sarajlić. Istraga.ba documented this meeting, and Bajramović and Sarajlić stated that they met by chance, even though they had not known each other until then.

The publication of these photos clearly prevented Bajramović from attempting to influence the judges of the Supreme Court of FBiH, who have now fully confirmed the verdict of the Cantonal Court in Bihać. And this means that Halil Bajramović must go to prison.
