Traffic jams at northern border crossings, expected to continue throughout the day

(Patria) - Traffic intensity is increased this morning at the northern border crossings of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially at the Izačić, Velika Kladuša, Kostajnica, Gradina, Gradiška, Brod, and Orašje border crossings. Due to the upcoming holidays, as well as the fact that it is the last working day of the week, further increases in traffic jams are expected during the day.

In addition to border crossings, traffic is heavier in most of our country, but without major delays. Fog and low clouds reduce visibility in places, especially in valleys, which is an additional reason for caution.

Due to significant damage, passenger vehicles are experiencing difficult traffic on the Tuzla-Bijeljina main road (Banj Brdo - near the village of Seljublje), while traffic for trucks is suspended.

Due to a landslide, traffic is suspended for all vehicles on the regional road R-456 Zvornik-Priboj, in the village of Goduš.

Movement of all vehicles across the bridge on the Dobro Polje-Miljevina main road is prohibited. Vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons can use the roads via Grepak or Kalinovik (there is 19 km of macadam road), while trucks must use the roads via Rogatica and Ustiprača.

Due to road repair works on the A-1 highway section Kakanj-Lašva, the left side of the highway is closed for a length of 3 km. During the works, vehicles are directed to use both directions on the right side, in the direction of Lašva-Kakanj.

On the A-1 highway sections Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi and A-1 Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica, traffic is redirected to the overtaking lane due to necessary works.

Due to expansion joint repair works on the bridge on the M-17 Konjic-Tarčin main road (before the Bradina tunnel), traffic is redirected from the driving lane to the overtaking lane.

Due to the registration of passengers according to the new system of entry and exit into European Union countries (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. From December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing will be open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
