Team of the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service wins first place at the Croatian Resuscitation Championship

(Patria) - Prime Minister Nihad Uk and Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton Enis Hasanović hosted today the competition team of the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service which won first place at the Croatian Resuscitation Championship, held in Vodice.

In a competition of 12 teams from across the region, representatives of the Sarajevo Emergency Medical Service - Dr. Adi Osmanbegović, Dr. Adin Alijević and instructor Sedin Popara, placed in the semi-finals among the four best teams, and in the final session they won first place thanks to exceptional teamwork and precise application of modern protocols.

Immediately after this success, the team also received an invitation to participate in a prestigious international competition in Poland.



- The victory at the regional level is a result that the entire Government is proud of, but above all it is a message of security to citizens who daily witness the professionalism of the employees of this institution.

The job of the Government of Sarajevo Canton is to provide support and ensure excellent working conditions, and it is up to the Institute to continue working as they showed in Vodice, to be the best in their field.

We will continue to invest continuously in people and technology, because these experts are the foundation of a safe and modern healthcare system - said Uk.

Minister Hasanović emphasized that this success comes as a result of strategic planning and modernization of the entire system.

- The establishment of the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) represents our strategic step forward, and the procurement of helicopters is a key operational and infrastructural prerequisite for the realization of this concept.

In emergency medicine, patient survival is measured in minutes, and it is precisely these capacities that enable the healthcare system to react in the crucial moments of the fight for life.

Our investments are constant, from the fundamental renovation of the building dating from 1979, to the introduction of the most modern devices, procedures and training according to European standards - said Hasanović.



The Director of the Institute, Dr. Jasna Husejnbegović-Musić, pointed out that the achieved result confirms that the vehicles and medical staff in Sarajevo are equipped to compete with any team in Europe.

- At this moment, the Institute for Emergency Medical Service has 55 specialists, which is an impressive human and professional potential that guarantees the highest level of healthcare.

Our vehicles and equipment are at the service of the knowledge of these people, and the support of the Government and the Ministry of Health allows us to uncompromisingly insist on continuous education and strict adherence to protocols.

The result from Vodice is a direct confirmation of the strength of our collective and professional approach to work - said Husejnbegović-Musić.

During the conversation, members of the winning team, with laughter, conveyed the atmosphere from the preparations, emphasizing that they practiced daily to perfect team coordination.

They highlighted the importance of the professional leadership of the director and her insistence on continuous staff training, which in the crucial moments of the competition brought a decisive advantage over other participants from the region.
