Efendić: The appearance of leptospirosis is an appeal and a cry from Sarajevo's population to bring order to the utility sector

(Patria) - The Mayor of Novi Grad Municipality, Semir Efendić, announced on social media today, emphasizing that the Dobrinja Riverbed is the only green area in the Dobrinja settlement maintained by the municipal company JP Lokom.

"This year, it has already been mowed twice so far (April 28 and May 16), and it is mowed 7-8 times a year to keep it tidy.

Other green areas are maintained by KJKP Park, and unfortunately, a larger number of green areas have not even been mowed for the first time this season. Delays in the grass mowing process cause multiple problems. Among other things, deratization of public areas, which is carried out under such conditions, is of questionable quality. Another big problem is that when the grass reaches a certain height and matures, after mowing, it remains on the meadows, thus representing dirt that prevents the normal maintenance of these areas.

The appearance of the infectious disease leptospirosis is the latest appeal and cry from Sarajevo's population to bring order to the utility sector in the canton. There are examples like the 'Safet Zajko' Center or the Dobrinjka Riverbed on how green areas should be maintained. The same applies to garbage collection in Sarajevo Canton, as well as other areas of life," Efendić stated.
