Dugalija and Hajdarević to discuss progress of investigation in 'Tram' case tomorrow

(Patria) - Chief Cantonal Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office Meliha Dugalija and Police Commissioner Fatmir Hajdarević will hold a joint press conference on Wednesday regarding the tragic tram accident in which one person was fatally injured, one seriously, and three lightly injured. We remind you that on February 12th at 12:02 PM, a tram derailed while turning towards the Zemaljski muzej BiH tram station, hit the stop, and partially stopped on the main traffic lane next to the stop.

The investigation in this case is being conducted by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. So far, the only suspect is the tram driver Adnan Kasapović, and the Prosecutor's Office has stated that the investigation is proceeding in multiple directions. Certain employees of KJKP Gras have also been interviewed, and the director of that company, Senad Mujagić, has resigned, but has not yet been dismissed.

Certain documentation has been seized from both KJKP GRAS and the Ministry of Transport of the Sarajevo Canton, as well as from the company that services tram brakes. Video recordings from cameras monitoring the tram's route have been seized, while the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office officially announced that there is no recording from inside the tram at the time of the accident, as the last recording was made on November 29th, 2025.

Given that expert examinations are underway by court order, and the investigation is still ongoing intensely, it is difficult to expect Dugalija and Hajdarević to reveal the future direction of the investigation or if there are any other suspects.

However, considering all the findings, including those that tram drivers operate without valid licenses and under the influence of prohibited substances, the public is following this case with particular attention.
