Traffic Regime Changes in Sarajevo and Vogošća Today Due to the Farewell for 11 Victims of Tihovići

(Patria) - The Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton has given consent to the Association "Tihovići" from Vogošća for a temporary change in the traffic regime at the locations of the planned event - marking the suffering of the residents of Tihovići - the transport of mortal remains, as follows:

On Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, the departure of the re-exhumed mortal remains from the city cemetery in Visoko towards Vogošća is planned. After arriving in Sarajevo, the convoy with the mortal remains continues moving without stopping, accompanied by police vehicles providing light and, if necessary, sound signals, towards the Vogošća Municipality building. Upon arriving at Jošanička Street in front of the Vogošća Municipality building (approximately 11:00 AM), a stop of the convoy lasting a maximum of 10 minutes is planned to pay respects, recite the Fatiha, and observe a minute of silence, where a complete traffic halt will be required for 10 minutes on Jošanička Street, on the section from the junction with Akifa ef. Biserovića Street to the junction with Samira Gradišića Street.

After the temporary stop on Jošanička Street in front of the Vogošća Municipality building, the convoy continues along Jošanička and Igmanska Streets towards Sarajevo. Upon arriving in Sarajevo, the convoy continues along Hamze Hume Street all the way to the Skenderija intersection, where it turns left onto Obala Kulina bana Street. The movement continues straight along this street all the way to the Vijećnica (City Hall).

At the Vijećnica, the convoy turns left onto Telali Street and continues straight to the Baščaršija tram stop on Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street near Baščaršija Square. At this location, a stop of 5-10 minutes is planned to pay respects, recite the Fatiha, and observe a minute of silence, where a complete traffic halt will be required on Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street for 5-10 minutes with the assistance of police officers.

After the temporary stop at Baščaršija on Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street, the convoy continues along this street and Maršala Tita Street to the building of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where a stop of 5-10 minutes is planned to pay respects, recite the Fatiha, and observe a minute of silence, where a complete traffic halt will be required on Maršala Tita Street for 10-15 minutes with the assistance of police officers.

After the temporary stop in front of the building of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Maršala Tita Street, the convoy continues along the street and turns right, then continues straight towards Vogošća. Upon arriving at the roundabout near Pretis in Vogošća, the convoy turns right towards the settlements of Blagovac and Tihovići and continues all the way to the settlement of Tihovići, where the temporary placement of the mortal remains is planned until the funeral prayer (dženaza).

On Friday, July 4, 2025, in the period from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, during the preparation and the collective funeral prayer, consent is given for a complete traffic halt on the local road Magovac - Tihovići, on the section approximately 350 meters before the martyr's cemetery (šehidsko mezarje) to the Tihovići community center, a length of about 570 meters, with the assistance of police officers.

The mortal remains of 11 victims from Tihovići are ready for burial at the collective funeral prayer, which will be held on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Martyr's Cemetery Tihovići, announced the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These are victims of Bosniak nationality who were killed in the area of Tihovići, Vogošća municipality, in May 1992.
