Members of the Bosniak Caucus of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA held talks with representatives of the Coordination of 14 NGOs

(Patria) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) Kemal Ademović, Speaker of the Bosniak Caucus in the House of Peoples of the BiH PA Šefik Džaferović, and delegates Safet Softić, Dženan Đonlagić, and Džemal Smajić held talks with the President of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide Murat Tahirović, Sabahudin Ramić from the Coordination of Veterans' Organizations (demobilized soldiers, disabled war veterans, families of martyrs, and recipients of war decorations), Fikret Grabovica from the Association of Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo, Munib Efendić from the Unified Organization of Fighters of the Federation of BiH, and Senid Karović from the Association of Civilian Victims of War of the Federation of BiH.

During the talks, representatives of 14 non-governmental organizations and associations clarified their demands concerning the work of judicial institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and the executive authorities. The key message from the representatives of the associations is the demand for a revision of the State Strategy for Prosecuting War Crimes and the intensification of the work of all institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in seeking justice for victims of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

Delegates of the Bosniak Caucus in the House of Peoples of the BiH PA unanimously supported the work of non-governmental organizations and associations in shedding light on the truth, collecting evidence, and prosecuting all cases of war crimes. Truth is the only path that leads to justice, and justice is the only path that leads to genuine reconciliation in the region, which is the common stance of the delegates from the Bosniak Caucus in the House of Peoples of the BiH PA.

The interlocutors agreed to continue regular consultations on the implementation of the conclusions from this meeting.
