(Patria) - Today's continuation of the BiH PA House of Peoples session was marked by heated discussions, including insults directed at the state, members of the BiH Presidency, and High Representative Christian Schmidt.
SNSD delegate Radovan Kovačević called BiH a "colorful lie" to which SDA delegate Safet Softić reacted.
Kovačević reiterated his position that BiH has no sovereignty due to the High Representative and announced the secession of Republika Srpska and that it will "go its own way".
Delegate Dragan Čović also took the floor earlier, speaking about his favorite topic - legitimate representation. Regardless of the fact that the Election Law proposal was withdrawn from today's session, Čović stated that he will certainly achieve his goal, and that they can no longer allow "two Bosniak members of the BiH Presidency".
He said that this proposal was also a kind of test to show the public that it is theoretically acknowledged that "it is not good for Croats to have their representatives elected to the BiH Presidency, but when it comes to changing this in practice, there is no will for it."
"HDZ will fight to have legitimate representatives. Where collective rights are protected, those are the Houses of Peoples and the BiH Presidency, and I say that we will fight to have legitimate representatives and that we will fight for full equality and legitimate representation.
When the time comes, the Election Law will be on the agenda and in an urgent procedure. I hope we won't need it until the 2026 elections and that you will see the light," Čović said.
Head of the SDA Club Šefik Džaferović said that Kovačević made scandalous statements.
"One day you will be ashamed of what you have said. BiH is an internationally recognized and respected state. BiH has a problem because of the destructive policies that your boss and you represent. If it weren't for that, the High Representative would have left long ago, EUFOR would have ceased to exist. The High Representative must be here because BiH is being attacked by forces that do not want it to exist. BiH is a serious country, not a colorful lie. And everything you said, Mr. Kovačević, is a colorful lie to curry favor with your boss," Džaferović said.
Dženan Đonlagić pointed out to Čović that no one has ever disputed the constitutionality of the election of the members of the BiH Presidency, nor has it ever been requested.
