(Patria) - In the Alley of Youth in Tuzla, delegations from all levels of government laid flowers and paid tribute to the 71 people killed in the massacre that occurred 30 years ago. Since the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina are in Dayton, flowers were laid on behalf of Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić by their advisors.
Families of the victims, survivors, delegations and citizens of Tuzla gathered today in the Alley of Youth to pay tribute to all those killed.
The crime occurred on May 25, 1995 at 20:55 when Serbian forces from Ozren fired a shell at Kapija where several hundred people were gathered. 71 people were killed and 200 wounded. The youngest victim was three-year-old Sandro Kalesić.
Mayor of Tuzla Zijad Lugavić said that we must fight for the truth through facts.
"We must seek justice through institutions. We must ensure that future generations are familiar with the truth about the crime at Tuzla's Kapija. We have also involved the scientific academic community in documenting and publishing the crime at Kapija," said Lugavić.
