Veterans' Alliances: There Are Clear Mechanisms for Protecting the State of BiH, We Are Deeply Concerned That They Still Have Not Been Applied

(Patria) - The Coordination of veterans' alliances originating from the ranks of the Army and the MUP of the RBiH and the Federal Ministry for Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defence-Liberation War express deep concern over the current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We are in constant mutual contact in order to encourage all institutions to react adequately and in a timely manner regarding the disruption of stability and security in our homeland," was stated from the Cabinet of the Federal Minister for Veterans and Disabled Veterans.

The Ministry and the Coordination demand from the legislative and executive authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina maximum engagement and the undertaking of all legal measures to act preventively against the continuous disruption of political and security stability, which comes from the political leaders of the smaller BiH entity.

"We believe that, in accordance with the Constitution of BiH, there are clear mechanisms for protecting the state from any form of destabilization. Given the current situation, we are deeply concerned that such mechanisms have still not been applied and that the state, unfortunately, has not taken the appropriate measures at its disposal.

Furthermore, we express concern over the inadequate response from institutions, which have not taken the appropriate measures that were necessary to preserve security and stability.

In accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement, the international community in BiH is specifically tasked with the peace and stability of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout its entire territory, and at this moment, apart from their verbal concern, we have not noticed any more concrete steps that they have at their disposal," the statement says.

The Coordination and the Ministry call on the citizens of BiH not to fall for provocations that are often motivated by personal political interests, and not by the interests of the state and its citizens.

"This is a call for responsibility, for unity, and for the preservation of peace and stability, because only through joint efforts can we preserve our state and prevent any attempts at destabilization.

We are certain that in our ranks there are a sufficient number of patriotically oriented members who would be ready at any cost to once again defend the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our Bosnia and Herzegovina," the statement adds.
