(Patria) - Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić has called an emergency telephone session of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) Steering Board for today due to the collapse of the bridge at the Gradiška border crossing.
The session will be held at 1 p.m.
Amidžić called on the members of the UIO Steering Board to give approval to the director of the UIO to adopt the Rulebook on Amendments and Additions to the Rulebook on Internal Organization, which would enable the commissioning of the new border crossing in Gradiška.
Amidžić proposed this due to the extraordinary situation caused by the collapse of part of the bridge over the Sava River and the complete interruption of traffic at the Gradiška border crossing, as well as due to the endangerment of citizens and property.
The BiH Council of Ministers is meeting urgently today due to the newly created situation, and personnel from Republika Srpska have been pressuring the Steering Board member from the Federation of BiH, expert Zijad Krnjić, for months because he does not want to give consent until other open issues on the UIO BiH Steering Board are resolved, the first of which is financial settlement, i.e., that the Republika Srpska entity stops taking money that belongs to the Federation of BiH entity.
The People and Justice Party (NIP) also made a statement this morning, stating that avoiding financial settlement between the entities directly undermines the work of the Indirect Taxation Authority by violating the legal obligation of financial settlement and damaging the reputation and trust in the UIO.
"The practice of convening extraordinary sessions with only one item on the agenda is unacceptable and represents maximalist attempts to secure decisions through manipulation solely in the interest of one side. In these circumstances, the sole responsibility for not opening the newly built border crossing lies with Srđan Amidžić. Unfortunately, Amidžić has shown on countless occasions that he directly works against the interests of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the citizens of the Republika Srpska entity. For example, it was Amidžić who tried to prevent the introduction of new technologies and fairer elections," stated NIP.
