Zvizdić discusses BiH's European path and reform priorities with Sattler

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić received today the newly appointed Special Representative of the European Union for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, Johann Sattler.

He welcomed him and expressed satisfaction that in the coming period, Bosnia and Herzegovina will have an excellent connoisseur of the Western Balkan region at the helm of the most significant international institution in BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.

He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to the European and NATO path and that further integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the most significant economic and social Union at the global level is unquestionable and consistent.

Chairman Zvizdić said that during this mandate, European integration has been set and continuously promoted as one of the most important goals and priorities of this Council of Ministers.

He expressed satisfaction that the priorities outlined by Sattler in his first address, namely the rule of law and strengthening the independence of the judiciary, socio-economic reforms, and further public administration reform, coincide with the priorities on which this Council of Ministers has worked over the past four and a half years.

They also discussed the migrant situation in BiH, and on that occasion, Chairman Zvizdić thanked for the support that the European Union has provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina in this segment in the past period and informed him about yesterday's working-consultative meeting of members of the Council of Ministers of BiH with directors of relevant state security, intelligence, and police agencies, where the current situation was discussed.

“We remain a reliable partner in promoting the European path and fulfilling all the tasks ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Zvizdić.

Sattler has been the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Special Representative of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina since September 1, 2019.
