Zvizdić with Inzko and Berton: Key Goal is Obtaining EU Candidate Status

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić received today the High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko and the newly appointed First Deputy High Representative and Supervisor for Brčko District Bruce G. Berton, reports the Patria news agency.

Zvizdić informed the High Representative and his deputy about the current political and economic situation in BiH. He emphasized that the key goal of the Council of Ministers of BiH is obtaining candidate status for membership in the European Union. He said that the current focus is on the implementation of agreed goals and reforms.

Zvizdić informed the guests about the action plan of the reform agenda adopted yesterday, as well as the work on activating the MAP. He said that progress is visible in the registration of prospective military property and expressed hope that these efforts will be recognized in NATO in order to activate the MAP.

The High Representative said that EU integration has no alternative and that BiH's progress on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration is visible, and that the international community will assist BiH on that path.

Chairman Zvizdić welcomed Deputy Berton and wished him success in his work, it was announced from the Council of Ministers of BiH.
