Zvizdić: The word 'together' must become a prefix of all activities in BiH

Denis Zvizdić, candidate for Chairman of the Council of Ministers, after Mladen Ivanić, Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, arrived at the session, addressed the deputies and presented the exposé of his future work, reports a reporter from the Patria news agency.

We remind that a break in the session was made because none of the members of the Presidency nor their representative arrived at the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. The problem arose because the Presidency of BiH was not informed in time about the session, as this agenda item was only added yesterday.

In his address to the deputies, Zvizdić said that he stands before all citizens of BiH with mixed feelings.

- I am aware of the challenges ahead of us. Since my name was announced as the mandate holder, I have received hundreds of congratulations. And everyone congratulated me on the courage to tackle the problems. To solve the problems, it will not be enough to just say I did everything, but it will be necessary to do everything to pull BiH out of apathy. It is urgently necessary to start changes. I call on you to declare this mandate period a period of reforms and socio-economic progress - said Zvizdić.

He added that BiH is the only homeland and we must give it the capacity for a comfortable life.

- This beautiful area, which has great natural resources, is our homeland and a space given to us to live with each other, not against each other. We are aware of the weight of the tasks and the great expectations from us. Citizens of BiH are leaving BiH thinking that somewhere else is better. Especially because of the young people who should get jobs, not visas, we must answer the questions of how to move forward. BiH should be a state of capable and efficient institutions - added Zvizdić.

He also specified that we must resist the approach that "everything that does not come from my club or people is doomed to failure".

- We must change that, because otherwise we will all face failure. In order to relax relations, the future Council of Ministers will not have the intention to take over competencies that do not belong to it according to the constitution, but we will also not give up on competencies that truly belong to us. Every reform implemented so far has proven to be good for everyone. In those areas where we fail to reach an agreement, we suffer great economic losses and our reputation is damaged - emphasized Zvizdić.

He further stated that "together" must become a prefix of all activities in this country.

- We will continue with the activities led by Vjekoslav Bevanda. We will not shift blame onto those before us. We will accept all criticisms, but not those that are politicking. Our goal is success, not individual but joint. We must not and will not disappoint the citizens. - added Zvizdić.

After the introductory speech, Zvizdić also addressed the priority goals of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

- It is necessary to say that the previous Council of Ministers made progress, but radical reforms must be an indicator of our work - added Zvizdić.

In the exposé, Zvizdić explained that it is important to make efforts to overcome the stagnation on BiH's path to Euro-Atlantic integrations, which implies the formation of an effective coordination mechanism, and it is important to continue reforms in the judiciary.

For Zvizdić, a systemic fight against organized crime, corruption and terrorism is necessary, and therefore he announced changes in the security sector, emphasizing the need for better coordination of police agencies at all levels of government in BiH.

Also, he emphasized, more efficient cooperation with international agencies and organizations dealing with security issues is necessary, and he added that in concrete and vital matters, he will insist that expertise takes precedence over politics.
