Zvizdić discusses with European Parliament delegation

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Dr. Denis Zvizdić, met today in Sarajevo with a delegation of the European Parliament, the European People's Party (EPP) group.

Chairman Zvizdić informed the MEPs about the current political and economic situation in BiH. He emphasized the commitment of the Council of Ministers of BiH to Euro-Atlantic integration as the primary foreign policy goal of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Zvizdić said that Bosnia and Herzegovina has responded to the EC Questionnaire and that work is currently underway to prepare answers to additional questions. He added that obtaining candidate status would be a great incentive for continuing the integration process of BiH and the region into the EU, as well as for further political stabilization, peacebuilding, and economic development.

Chairman Zvizdić informed the MEPs that the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the BiH Energy Strategy Framework until 2035 at yesterday's 152nd session, which opened access to new development funds and enabled equal partnership participation in projects within the Berlin Process.

The head of the EPP delegation, EPP Group Vice-President responsible for Enlargement and Mediterranean Policy, MEP from the Republic of Bulgaria Andrey Kovatchev, said that the EPP group in the European Parliament provides full support to the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He congratulated Chairman Zvizdić on the progress in integration processes and implemented reforms, and encouraged the authorities in BiH to continue with the necessary reform processes in order to accelerate our country's European path.
