Zvizdić on the incident in Potočari: There were many failures in the work of security agencies

The Council of Ministers of BiH held an extraordinary session due to the incident in Potočari during the commemoration and funeral of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, where Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić was attacked. The session was attended by the Director of OSA Almir Džuvo, Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies Mirsad Vilić, and a representative of the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

The Council of Ministers of BiH most strongly condemned the attack on the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić. The BiH Ministry of Security was asked to prepare and submit a detailed analysis of everything that happened on July 11 at the Potočari Memorial Center as a matter of urgency, in cooperation with all competent institutions. 

Prime Minister Zvizdić stated that there were many failures in the work of the agencies, and denied allegations that there was prior knowledge of a possible attack on Vučić.

The Ministry of Security was tasked at the session to submit conclusions on the measures that all competent agencies should take. The BiH Prosecutor's Office should find and prosecute those responsible for the attack.

- This attack was not only an attack on Vučić but also an attack on the dignity of all victims in Srebrenica, as well as on all efforts that BiH is making. This event should not have happened, and it must not have happened, especially not in a place like Srebrenica and Potočari. Furthermore, it should not have happened because all security agencies from BiH guaranteed the safety of Vučić and all other dignitaries - said Denis Zvizdić, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, after the meeting.

- I am now watching the media and I see that officials from Serbia are saying that they warned the competent authorities in BiH. I explicitly ask that it be stated to whom this was delivered and whether the person to whom it was delivered forwarded the information to all competent agencies. I am beginning to suspect that many do not have an interest in us having such coordination at the BiH level and that some are interested in us having constant events that we could have prevented, from the one in Zvornik to this one in Srebrenica - said Zvizdić.

The Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, Mirsad Vilić, stated that SIPA investigators began searching for the attackers immediately after the attack on Vučić.
