Zvizdić: Inviolability of internationally recognized borders is a basic principle of the European Union

(Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić stated today after a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in Berlin that all Balkan countries have internationally recognized borders, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders is a basic principle of the European Union. 

Zvizdić pointed to the deterioration of political stability, as well as the overall stability of the entire Balkans.

“Some new borders are starting to be drawn again, there is talk of territorial exchange based on the ethnic principle, and we know from our past what such ideas have led to, because they are not new. Seselj, Milosevic once spoke about these ideas, and the attempt to implement these ideas resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths, genocide, and displacement,” said Zvizdić.

Leaders of the Western Balkan countries gathered today in Berlin for a summit hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.
