Zvizdić Will Not Take the Hot Seat of Prime Minister!

The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) will not propose a new mandate-holder for the Government of Sarajevo Canton, Elmedin Dino Konaković, head of the SDA club in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, told the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

When asked whether the president of the Cantonal Committee of the SDA, Denis Zvizdić, as the first man of the strongest party in Sarajevo, should take responsibility in the difficult situation, Konaković did not want to give a precise answer.

- My personal stance is one of special respect for the best prime minister of all time, and on the other hand, responsibility is borne by Zvizdić and me, and all of us for everything that is happening - says Konaković.

After Suad Zeljković from the SDA resigned from the position of Prime Minister of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, following violent demonstrations, the cantonal SDA relieved him of his duties. As we learn from sources within this party, this was done without consultations with the top of the party and the Presidency of the SDA as the official body that must be informed.

In the last few days, within the SDA, criticisms have been heard regarding such conduct by the SDA branch led by Zvizdić, which controlled the government until the start of the demonstrations.

At the same time, Konaković says that the cantonal SDA intends to also hear the opinion of the citizens' plenum, despite the fact that the fiercest anger of the demonstrators was, precisely, directed at the building of the Government of Sarajevo Canton.

- There is no legal and constitutional possibility for them to nominate a prime minister, but they can be a partner in dialogue. We are ready to hear their proposals - says Konaković.
