Zvizdić: We Have a Traced European Future, the Questionnaire Will Be Ready by the End of February

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić said at today's press conference that the Strategy on the Western Balkans shows that the Balkan region remains strategically important for the European Union and that by 2025 all work will be intensified and funds increased.

- The EU doors are open without any preferences. It has also been prevented that some countries that go ahead of others block that process for those who will enter after them. What is important is that there was no bidding with any deadlines. Rule of law, strengthening security and support for socio-economic development, improvement of transport infrastructure are some of the areas we must address and are in the action plan. This must not be part of daily politics - said Zvizdić.

- What is important for me is the fact that the Council of Ministers has fulfilled all its obligations, including the Questionnaire, which will be submitted as agreed in Brussels.

The Questionnaire will be submitted to the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, on February 28, when he will visit Sarajevo.

- In line with our full commitment, if we are ready to do that instead of an empty election campaign, then we can expect a large number of negotiation chapters to be closed. We have a traced European future for BiH.

He said that the stories of those who paint everything in BiH in black have not come true. He emphasized that there is a lot of work ahead of BiH politicians.

Zvizdić also explained that all answers in the Questionnaire are harmonized and have passed all procedures of the Coordination Mechanism.

- It clearly specifies how we reach harmonized answers. Everything that comes post festum cannot have consequences. It will be ready by the end of February - claims Zvizdić.

He added that it is about 16,000 pages that will be submitted to Juncker in electronic form.

- There was not a single country in the region that did not have a set of additional questions. We will deal with that when they arrive - said Zvizdić.
