Zvizdić and Moore Discuss London Summit of Prime Ministers

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić spoke today in Sarajevo with the Director for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Richard Moore, about the upcoming summit on the Western Balkans, which will be held on July 9 and 10 in London as part of the Berlin Process.

Chairman Zvizdić welcomed the progress of preparations for the upcoming summit, praising the thorough and consultative approach to the organization itself. He informed Director Moore that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina formed a Coordination Team in early June to carry out all necessary thematic preparations for the highest quality participation at the summit. He emphasized that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to regional cooperation and that Bosnia and Herzegovina will always be an active participant and positive factor in all regional initiatives leading to peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

Chairman Zvizdić welcomed the concept presented by the British government and the selected topics, which, although very sensitive for the region, are also extremely important for making progress toward a common future by closing difficult topics from our past, such as the issue of missing persons and war crimes. He pointed out that these topics, in addition to the economy and security, are extremely important for improving bilateral relations and building a stable common future for the region. He added that the topic of migration has also become relevant in a very short time, not only for the region but also for the EU.

At the upcoming summit (WB6+EU8) in London, in addition to Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo[1]  and Bosnia and Herzegovina, eight EU member states will also participate: Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Poland.
