Zvizdić and Mogherini: Activation of MAP would be a key message for the stability of the Western Balkans

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Denis Zvizdić, met today in Munich with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, and informed her about the current political and economic situation in BiH, Patria reports.

During the talks, Chairman Zvizdić stated that the Council of Ministers of BiH is intensively working on implementing the goals and tasks from the Reform Agenda, and that the process of completing the European Commission Questionnaire, which BiH received at the beginning of December last year, is being carried out at the planned pace.

High Representative Mogherini emphasized support for the continuation of reforms in BiH and said that the doors of the European Union are open for Bosnia and Herzegovina. She praised the visible progress in EU integration and economic development. She stated that the upcoming period should be marked by fulfilling the tasks from the Reform Agenda and finalizing the responses to the European Commission Questionnaire, which is a prerequisite for further development and prosperity of BiH.

Mogherini praised the visible improvement in regional cooperation and the activities that the Council of Ministers of BiH has recently undertaken in this segment.

Chairman Zvizdić emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to EU integration and that membership in the European Union is a basic priority and strategic goal. He said he hopes that BiH will obtain EU candidate status by the end of this year. Chairman Zvizdić also highlighted BiH's progress on the NATO path and stated that the activation of the MAP for BiH would be a key message for the stability and security of the Western Balkans region.

It is expected that the High Representative of the European Union, Federica Mogherini, will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of March, and this will be an opportunity to learn about the progress achieved so far and the planned activities on the path of European integration.
