Canadian Officials Congratulate on BiH Independence Day

(Patria) - "We appreciate and welcome the efforts of the Bosnian community in Canada for their recognized work for a better BiH and Canada, and we encourage them to continue their excellent fight for a better BiH and Canada," stated Canadian political officials in their congratulations on Bosnia and Herzegovina's Independence Day.On the occasion of Independence Day, flags and other Bosnian-Herzegovinian state symbols were displayed in Canada, especially in the city of Hamilton.

Member of the Canadian Parliament and member of the Canada-Bosnia and Herzegovina Friendship Group in Parliament, Bob Bratina, congratulated BiH Independence Day on behalf of the Government of Canada.

"On behalf of the Government of Canada, I wish all Canadians of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin all the best on Independence Day. Members of the valuable Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in Canada should be proud of the beauty of their country, culture, and people. I have the great honor of being the voice of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in Canada in the Parliament of Canada, and especially in the city of Hamilton. My love for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian people, their culture, and homeland dates back to 1978 when I first visited Bosnia and Herzegovina. I hope that one day I will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina again and once again participate in its wonderful culture, breathe the fresh air, and drink the pure water. Please accept my best wishes for the great Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the congratulatory message stated.

The Mayor of Hamilton, Ferd Eisenberger, also congratulated BiH Independence Day.

"It is my pleasure to extend my best wishes and congratulations on the occasion of the celebration of BiH Independence Day on Friday, March 1, 2019. This is an important day marking the independence of the state of BiH. I thank you for the great contribution of the Bosnian community to the city of Hamilton. The Bosnian flag is flying above City Hall, and the electronic symbol of the city of Hamilton is in the national colors of the Bosnian flag. This is our small recognition and appreciation for BiH's contribution to democracy and national, religious, and cultural diversity in its region," the congratulatory message stated.
