Žuljević: What do the Government's amendments to the Law on the Rate of Default Interest Hide

The House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament adopted the Government's amendments to the Law on the Rate of Default Interest last week.

The essence of the Government's amendments to this law is that the state will no longer have to pay default interest on debts to employees, meaning these interest rates will be minimal (0.2 percent), while interest on citizens' debts to the state will remain unchanged.

Delegate Aner Žuljević believes that such a Government law is a new blow to the citizens in the Federation.

- Novalić's Government has decided to reduce default interest exclusively on debts to employees, while all those who owe the state will continue to pay many times higher default interest – claims delegate Žuljević in a comment for Patria.

- I have nothing against the state deciding to implement a uniform policy of reducing default interest across all segments, but in this way, by reducing it only on the basis of labor disputes, it is more than clear that this is an unconstitutional move, new discrimination, which is why Novalić's Government will end up in the Constitutional Court again – added Žuljević.
