Žuljević: Dodik's racist outburst confirms the disastrous and naive policy of SDA and Bakir Izetbegović

Delegate in the House of Peoples of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliament, Aner Žuljević, considers Milorad Dodik's claim that "BiH with the character of constituent peoples depends exclusively on good relations between Croats and Serbs" to be racist, it was announced from SDP, reports the Patria News Agency.

- The implication that there is a negative "character" as a collective determinant of any people, in this case Bosniaks, which is interpreted as a threat or a destabilizing factor, while naming "natural" allies in relation to others, implying "unnatural" ones, I believe represents the worst form of prejudice and racism.

The latest events, including Milorad Dodik's claims, are the best proof of the disastrous and naive policy of SDA and Bakir Izetbegović, aimed at emphasizing ethnic representation and advocating for an anti-state principle of people's representatives. Unfortunately, the ruling parties are clearly returning Bosnia and Herzegovina to the era of tavern negotiations among tribal chiefs, instead of institutional negotiations among statesmen.

I call on the representatives of the ruling parties to, respecting the international legal subjectivity of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a fact and a permanent category, finally start acting as representatives of institutions and lower administrative-territorial units of the state of BiH, and not as tribal chiefs, each trying to establish that their tribe has evolved more than the other two.

Accepting and strengthening the undisputed subjectivity of the state of BiH, and the BiH identity of all its citizens, while respecting their other individual and collective identity determinants, is the only way to ensure the progress of the citizens of our country, instead of returning to ideologies of hatred, opposition, and denial of BiH statehood and the pluralistic character of society, which resulted in tragic consequences in our not-so-distant past.

In light of the latest events, I call on Valentin Inzko to finally become the High Representative in accordance with the constitutional definition and the obligations that holding this position entails, and to react with actions, not "concern," to all acts of violation of the BiH Constitution.

I expect the High Representative, when he decides to be one, to prevent the adoption of the unconstitutional coordination mechanism which derogates the powers of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and transfers its international subjectivity to lower administrative units, Žuljević stated in his statement.
