Žuljević: Čović offered EU officials paranoia about the threat of establishing an Islamic caliphate

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Aner Žuljević, delegate of the Social Democratic Party of BiH in the House of Peoples of the Federal Parliament, stated that it is interesting that Dragan Čović presented the story about the creation of an Islamic state in BiH to European officials in Brussels almost at the same time as the resolution of the Assembly of Canton 10, which denies the verdicts of the Hague Tribunal for war crimes and expresses alleged fear of the formation of an "Islamic caliphate".

- Čović's announcements about mobilizing the Croatian people serve only to intimidate the naive and blackmail his political partners, in order to stop processes that are moving towards strengthening BiH and its institutions.

Instead of answering the question that was surely asked of him in Brussels, which is the question of implementing the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg in the cases of "Sejdić-Finci", "Zornić" and "Pilav", Čović tried to "sell" his own backward theories to international officials.

To the question of not recognizing the constitutionality of Serbs guaranteed by the Constitution, as well as the equal use of the Serbian and Bosnian languages in the cantons he governs, Čović offered EU officials a paranoid fantasy about the threat of establishing an Islamic caliphate.

The continuation of the segregationist policy, which Dragan Čović skillfully wrapped in the cellophane of the endangerment of the Croatian people in BiH and tried to sell it in Brussels to European officials, is only further proof of how much Čović and his HDZ are not giving up on the story of a third entity.

It is evident that HDZ and Dragan Čović, both due to nervousness over Željko Komšić's candidacy and due to the rejection of their absurd proposal for amendments to the Election Law of BiH, now want to further complicate the situation in BiH by inventing artificial conflicts with everyone who disagrees with their intentions.

We in the SDP of BiH are not worried about Čović's unbacked schizophrenic outbursts. We are only worried that with such statements, Čović, Izetbegović and their associates are lowering the little reputation our country enjoys in international circles.

We did not have to wait long for Izetbegović's "patriotic" counter-attack, with which another staged and agreed-upon pre-election "conflict" between SDA and HDZ BiH received its epilogue. In the meantime, citizens continue to pay "excise" prices for fuel with an expected increase in the price of everything else, and future pensioners expect pensions that are about thirty percent lower - Žuljević states in his statement.
