(Patria) - We still have no official information about this crisis of relations in the coalition. A few days ago, we had a meeting of coalition partners here in Tuzla which was in a good atmosphere and we parted, as they say, in a good atmosphere. And that is what is official.
This was stated for the Novinska agencija Patria (NAP) by the Member of the Assembly of Tuzla Canton (TK) Muamer Zukić (SDA), after information appeared in the media that an extraordinary session of the Cantonal Board (KO) of the Democratic Front (DF) TK was scheduled for Monday, with the sole agenda item being the termination of the coalition with SDA and the withdrawal of DF from the TK Government.
- Now we see that this is being published in the media, so we will see what is true. And of course, if there are any, let me say, disagreements, dissonant tones, some misunderstandings, we will make a maximum effort to resolve them.
There are problems in coalitions and businesses, but the skill is to overcome them, to solve them. And we here really have a good history of our relations, and the SDA/DF coalition in general is a very good story in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and here in Tuzla Canton, that bond is even the strongest.
So I truly believe that we will get through this and that there will be no major political change here, in the sense that what the media is writing about will happen - said Zukić.
If DF decides to withdraw from power, the TK Government would be left without a majority. We asked our interlocutor if what the media is writing is true - that SDA would form a new coalition with the Social Democrats?
- We haven't decided or discussed anything about that yet. We want to get to the official stance of DF, to see what the problem is. That's why I mentioned the history of our relations and this successful story here in TK.
I mean, it can't just end through the media - someone publishes something there, then I publish something else, and it's over. We need to sit down and talk, to see what the problem is, if there is one. To see if it can be resolved, and only then can we talk about something else.
I am optimistic that we will put everything in its place, because this is not the first time there have been crises. I repeat again, if all this is true, because our last conversation was truly in a pleasant atmosphere, so this does not quite align with what is in the public.
But of course, circumstances can change in politics in a day, in an hour. There can be problems, but I say, serious people, serious parties - and we strive to be serious - sit down and talk, to see what the problem is.
And we can sit down more than once, if there really is a problem. So far, we have shown seriousness, responsibility, and breadth to solve problems - emphasizes Zukić.
To our observation that there are less than four days left until the announced session of the KO DF TK, we asked him if SDA intends to organize a new meeting with coalition partners in the meantime?
- We will definitely talk. Logically, I say again - serious people do that. Monday is far away, we will definitely talk. Because all of this happened so quickly, today in one day, it spreads quickly through the media.
In any case, first a conversation between coalition partners, then we will see if we have a problem. And if we have a problem, then we will see how to solve it. Only then can we possibly think about something else - says Zukić.
Allegedly, one of the points of contention is the project for the construction of the University Campus in Tuzla, or the budget rebalance by which funds would be secured for the next phase of that project.
- I saw that there are different publications, we really need to sit down and see what it is. When forming the government, we defined the most prominent measures, as we called them. This majority of ours, this coalition, has done a lot of good work.
And we had those measures, and one of them was in that area. The Campus is already being built there, so it is something that was, let me say, our common policy. Perhaps it is about some methodology, approach, dynamics...
But we will open that up too. But we will first see if it is actually as the media writes or if it is something else? Even if it is something else, we will talk about that too.
I believe that we have a government here, coalition partners, a majority, a government, everyone is doing their job, and nothing has changed, except that a few such articles have appeared in the media.
Of course, anything that becomes a problem can be a subject of discussion and a subject of review, and so on. It is a living matter, there is something to talk about when it comes to the Government.
We have always had the breadth, to be self-critical, and to really make some corrections, some steps forward. I am optimistic - concluded Zukić in an interview with NAP.
