Zubac sat in the dock, pleaded not guilty

Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Goran Zubac pleaded not guilty today before the Department II for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Court of BiH in the case "Goran Gubac", reports the reporter of the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed, on June 16, 2014, the indictment which charges the accused Goran Zubac, director of SIPA, with the criminal offense of dereliction of duty. Goran Zubac's plea hearing began today in Sarajevo at 1 PM.

The indictment states, among other things, that the accused Zubac, as an official in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, consciously violating laws and other regulations, acted obviously negligently in the performance of his duties, which resulted in property damage exceeding the amount of 10,000.00 KM, writes NAP.

The defense attorney of the accused Zubac, Dragiša Jokić, said that today's plea hearing shows their stance towards the entire "Goran Zubac" case.

The Court of BiH previously rejected the defense's objections, but Jokić did not want to comment on that today. He said that the defense would present evidence at the main hearing, which, according to the judge, will be scheduled within the next 30 to 60 days.

Interestingly, during the plea hearing, the judge stated that the Court had problems serving court documents to Zubac, and asked Zubac if he had changed his permanent place of residence in Trebinje. Zubac said he had not changed his place of residence.

- I ask you to report any change of address to the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, as this could also lead to the determination of custody - the judge warned Zubac.

The accused Zubac did not want to speak to the media who came in large numbers to the Court of BiH today, reports Patria's reporter.
