Draw for the Europa League: Željo against Narva Trans, Sarajevo goes to Banants, and Široki against Domžale

NYON, (Patria) - The draw for the qualifying rounds of the Europa League, in which three clubs from BiH will participate: Željezničar, Sarajevo and Široki Brijeg, was held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

The Blues will test their strength against the team Narva Trans from Estonia, and Željo will be the host in the first match.

Željo was in group 9 of the draw, had the status of a seeded team, and could have drawn the following opponents: Chikhura Sachkhere (Georgia), Vaduz (Liechtenstein), Narva Trans (Estonia), the winner of the duel Cefn Druids (Wales) / Trakai (Lithuania), Gandzasar-Kapan (Armenia), and the winner of the duel UE Sant Julià (Andorra) / Gzira United (Malta).

Last year, Željezničar reached the second preliminary round in the same competition. The Blues eliminated Montenegro's Zeta with an aggregate score of 3:2 (1:0, 2:2) in the first round, only to be eliminated by Sweden's AIK Stockholm in the second. The match at Grbavica ended 0:0, while the Blues were defeated 2:0 in the return leg.

The Sarajevo team will also participate in this round of qualifications, and Sarajevo's opponent is Banants from Armenia.

The possible rivals for the Bordeaux team were: Ferencváros (Hungary), Petrocub (Moldova), Laçi (Albania), the winner of the match between Engordany (Andorra) and Folgore (San Marino), and Banants (Armenia).

The first match will be played on June 12 in Armenia, while the return leg is seven days later at Koševo.

The footballers of Široki Brijeg drew Domžale from Slovenia as their opponent.

Široki was placed in one of the toughest groups for the draw, as they did not have the status of a seeded team, and could have drawn Domžale (Slovenia), Gabala (Azerbaijan), Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia), Glasgow Rangers (Scotland), or Apollon Limassol (Cyprus).

Considering who the possible opponents for Boris Pavić's chosen players were, it can be said that Široki Brijeg got off lightly, as they will not have to travel far, Domžale play a similar style of football as in BiH, and it is certain that our representative will be able to prepare well for this match, although the Slovenians are absolute favorites in this duel.
