Air in Sarajevo still polluted, chronic patients, elderly and pregnant women should refrain from prolonged stays outdoors

(Patria) - According to measurements this morning at 8 AM, the air in Sarajevo is unhealthy with an air quality index of 164. The PM2.5 particle value is 79. At the US Embassy measurement station, the air is unhealthy with an index of 163. The situation is slightly better in Ilidža, Vijeće, and Bjelave.

Due to pollution, an increase in symptoms and intensity of diseases in people with heart and respiratory diseases, such as asthma, is possible. Everyone else could begin to feel the negative impact of pollution on their health.

The following groups should reduce any outdoor physical activities: people with lung and heart diseases, pregnant women, children, and the elderly. Everyone else should also avoid prolonged or strenuous exertion while outdoors.
