Air in Sarajevo remains extremely poor, avoid staying outdoors

(Patria) - Despite the sunny day, air quality in Sarajevo Canton remains extremely poor. High levels of PM10 particles are recorded at all measuring stations, with the worst conditions at the measuring sites of Otoka, Ilijaš, Vogošća and Ilidža.

It is recommended to avoid physical activities and staying outdoors, especially for people with respiratory problems and chronic diseases, as well as the elderly, pregnant women and children.

According to information from the Expert Body of Sarajevo Canton, fluctuations in concentrations of air pollutants are expected today, as well as better ventilation of the Sarajevo valley due to stronger vertical air currents caused by wind and higher temperatures.

A more significant change in weather can be expected on Friday, when there will be a change in wind direction and strengthening, with precipitation in the form of sleet and snow.

We remind that the Warning episode from the Plan of Intervention Measures in cases of excessive air pollution is in effect in Sarajevo Canton.
