Air in Ilijaš worst, no better in Bjelave and Otoka

(Patria) - Concentrations of polluting PM10 particles at most measuring sites in Sarajevo Canton (KS) are again exceeding the limit values for the Warning episode today.

The highest values of this pollutant, according to measurements at 2:00 PM, were recorded in Ilijaš and amount to 147 micrograms per cubic meter of particles.

At the Bjelave measuring station, PM10 values are 125 micrograms per cubic meter, and at Otoka 123 and in Vogošća 94 micrograms per cubic meter of particles.

Weather conditions are not stable, but the clearing of the basin parts of the Canton is proceeding slowly.

Concentrations of polluting substances change differently during the day in certain areas, due to their geographical specificities, but also different local sources of pollution.

In the evening hours, a temperature inversion is expected again, with weak wind, which will lead to an increase in the growth of solid particles.

Health recommendations still apply to avoid staying outdoors, especially in the early morning and evening hours, particularly for people with chronic lung and heart diseases, the elderly, pregnant women and young children.
